Visionary Images

Visual Culture + Social Change

Visionary Images (VI) is a not-for-profit youth arts organisation dedicated to the engagement and development of young people with experience of hardship through creativity. VI utilises contemporary communication media, art, design and technology as tools for artistic intervention, exchange, accessibility and cultural determination. We aim to exhibit to the broadest possible audience to raise awareness of the issues that affect us all.

At VI, young people are encouraged to take ownership of the studio space, their artwork, the creative process and to be a part of all decision-making in the running of the studio. Through active partnerships with a range of government, community, arts, industry and business partners, VI provides its members with access to resources, support, professional expertise, innovative technology and exhibition opportunities that are otherwise out of reach.

VI’s principal goal is to positively represent the voice of marginalised youth. VI provides the opportunity for young people to be self-directed, confident, aware, creative and articulate through participating in art and design projects. Young people gain life skills that lead to positive behavioural change within a social justice framework.

VI is based in inner city Melbourne, Australia. To get involved just contact us or visit our website.
